We have supported many entrepreneurs in the construction space through custom-made solutions which gave them access to soft loans and funding. Some of these clients had partnerships with JSE-listed entities such as Murray and Roberts and Wilson Bailey for example. But the vast majority of these clients had work from medium-tier project owners around the country.
Our proudest partnership here was when we supported a group of 6 women who had a contract in the East Rand of Johannesburg to construct RDP houses. These were six blocks of 24 units each, which had to be built in under 6 months and completed. Not only did we fund these women entrepreneurs, but through our built environment partnerships we created support facilities for them, ensuring that all their work from bricks to mortar, electrification, roofing and subsequent key handover was done on time and to the highest degree of satisfaction of their client. Today these women have received more allocation out of the project, and have managed to carry their funding requirement, and we are glad to have been a part of their journey.
